The Law Firm Innovation Foundation ("the Foundation", "we", "us", or "our") is a Nevada nonprofit corporation recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization (EIN 42-2464496). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit https://www.lawfirminnovation.org (the "Site"), how we use it, and the choices you have.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Ever.
1. Information you give us directly
The only place on this Site where you can submit personal information is our contact form. When you use it, we collect:
- Your first and last name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- The content of your message
We use these details for one purpose: to respond to your enquiry and, where you have asked for it, to send you the free educational resource you requested. Providing this information is entirely voluntary.
Our contact form is hosted and processed on our behalf by HighLevel, Inc. ("Go High Level"), the customer relationship management platform we use to keep track of enquiries and respond to them. The form appears on this page inside a frame served from HighLevel's systems, and what you submit is stored there as well as reaching our team. HighLevel acts as our service provider and is not permitted to use your information for its own purposes. You can reach us at contact@lawfirminnovation.org at any time instead of using the form, if you would prefer not to have your details pass through it.
2. Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser type, referring page, date and time of access) for security and troubleshooting purposes.
We also use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, services provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors find and use the Site so we can improve our educational resources. These services use cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as the pages you view, how long you spend on them, approximate geographic region, and the type of device and browser you use.
This analytics data is aggregated and is not used by us to identify you personally. Google's handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics entirely by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
3. Cookies and third-party technologies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. The Foundation itself uses them only for the analytics purposes described above. We do not run advertising or retargeting campaigns of our own, and we do not build profiles of visitors.
You should know, however, that the contact form on our Contact page is provided by HighLevel, Inc. and is served inside a frame from their systems. That form loads components of its own that we do not control. Two are worth naming:
- A bot-protection challenge from Cloudflare, which checks that submissions come from a person rather than an automated script.
- Facebook's advertising script. HighLevel includes it in every form it serves, whether or not the organisation using the form advertises on Facebook. The Foundation does not advertise on Facebook and has no Facebook advertising account connected, so the script has nothing to activate: it is loaded but never initialised, sends no information to Meta, and sets no Facebook cookies. We have verified this.
We mention it because the file is visible to anyone inspecting the page and we would rather explain it than have you wonder. If the Foundation ever did connect a Facebook advertising account, that script would begin tracking, and we would update this policy before it did.
If you would rather not load any of that, you can contact us by emailing contact@lawfirminnovation.org directly instead of using the form. Every other page on this Site loads only our own analytics.
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking cookies will not prevent you from reading any content on this Site.
4. Google Ads and the Google Ad Grants program
As a nonprofit organization, the Foundation may participate in the Google Ad Grants program to promote its free educational resources. If you arrive at this Site by clicking one of our ads, Google may record that click and associate it with your visit so that we can measure whether our ads are reaching the attorneys and law students we are trying to help. We use this only in aggregate, to evaluate whether our outreach is working.
5. How we share information
We share personal information only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers. Our web host, our email provider, and HighLevel, Inc. (which hosts our contact form and stores enquiries) process data on our behalf so that the Site can operate and so that your message reaches our team.
- Analytics providers. Google, as described in section 2.
- Legal requirements. Where we are required to do so by law, subpoena, or other valid legal process, or where necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of the Foundation or others.
6. How long we keep it
Contact form messages are retained in our email system for as long as needed to respond to you and to keep a record of the Foundation's correspondence. You may ask us to delete your message and contact details at any time by writing to contact@lawfirminnovation.org.
7. Security
This Site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email contact@lawfirminnovation.org and we will respond within a reasonable period.
We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of in that respect.
9. Children's privacy
This Site is intended for attorneys, law students, and legal professionals. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Third-party links
Our resources sometimes link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site.
